Green Box Arts, celebrating the festival's 10 years next summer, has exciting plans for the anniversary.

Christian Kirkpatrick Keesee offered a peek or two as he was host to the board, sponsors and supporters from Green Mountain Falls toasting the successful 2017 festival at a reception at the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College on Dec. 17.

One of the most popular art installations over the years could return next summer, hinted Keesee, who married partner and Green Box co-founder, choreographer Larry Keigwin (KEIGWIN + COMPANY, New York), in October in New York City. Cheers erupted in the Deco Lounge. Contracts are being completed, and the formal announcement should be made in February for the June 29-July 7 festival.

The festival's acclaimed music and dance portion still is being fine-tuned but probably will be part of a global celebration, Leonard Bernstein at 100, Keesee said.

The popular 2017 festival had featured two stunning Bruce Munro outdoor light installations, "Field of Light" and "Teepees." Previous art installations have included the musical "10 Swings" by Montreal design firm Daily tous les jours, Patrick Dougherty's twisting branch sculptures and Spencer Finch's "Back to Kansas."

Last summer's festival was lengthened with the launch of the Green Box Arts Learning Center. Free fall and winter classes enticed folks from the area with holiday card-making, "pie crust perfection" and essential oils. More to come, promised Executive Director Tina Burdett.
