Rocky Mountain UkeFest

Ukulele fans might want to pack their instruments for a weekend trip to Fort Lewis College in Durango for the third annual Rocky Mountain UkeFest.

The event runs Friday through Sunday, featuring Kevin Carroll of Austin, Texas; New Zealand's Jack-N-Jell (Mark Jackson and Jane Jelbart); plus performer Devin Scott along with workshops, open-mic nights and food.

Housing on the Fort Lewis College campus and nearby is available to rent. Early reservations are recommended: rockymountainukefest.com

Colorado Lavender Festival

It's a weekend celebration of Colorado-grown lavender. Friday's tours are sold out, but Saturday features a free Colorado Lavender Festival from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Palisade at Veterans Memorial Park, 120 W. Eighth St. Seminars on growing the purple-hued herb, $20.

Saturday evening, Hummel Real Estate presents Colorado Lavender Under the Stars, 6:30 to 9 p.m., at Peachfork Orchards and Vineyards, 281 33 Road, Palisade, $90. Info: coloradolavender.org.
