Owners of La Creperie said Thursday they will close their restaurant sometime within the third week of October.

Stephanie Dowdell said she and her older sister, Christine, will close the restaurant their mother opened in September 1978, after being asked by the landlord to give up their space.

She said she expects another restaurant will go into the slot at 204 N. Tejon St., but did not know what type. The sisters will use the last week of October to clean the restaurant and move equipment and other items to prepare the space for its new tenants, Dowdell said.

“We are starting to photograph items now, and offer them for sale,” she said.

While the sisters are saddened by their impending closing, Dowdell said neither feels as if their mother’s restaurant venture was a failure.

“Mom said, in her words, 35 years in the same location is a good go,” Dowdell said.

Dowdell did not know Thursday if she or her sister would open another restaurant.
