Big Head Todd/Collective Soul

Colorado's own Big Head Todd and the Monsters plays its annual Red Rocks Ampitheatre show on Saturday with special guest Collective Soul. BHTM has been playing its brand of bluesy rock since the mid-1980s. They moved on from the Colorado club circuit to constantly tour the U.S. while recording 11 studio albums, including 1993's "Sister Sweetly," which went platinum. Tickets start at $54.50 and were in short supply as of press time. This show is a favorite with the band's loyal fans and regularly sells out. But don't worry, BHTM has a free show in Winter Park on the 22nd if you miss this one.

Colorado State Square Dance Festival

Get your square dance on in Greeley at the Colorado State Square Dance Festival, Friday through Sunday. The theme for this, the 62nd anniversary celebration at University of Northern Colorado's University Center, is "Big Top Swing in 17." Expect to see lots of circus-inspired attire. Dance action will fill three dance halls, plus the event will feature a sewing clinic, fashion show and a parade of dancers Saturday night. Learn more at coloradosquaredance.com/index.php/2017.
