To help support foster children through El Paso County, the YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region is holding its second annual Cases of Love Suitcase Drive until April 22.

All YMCA locations within the region are accepting new or gently used luggage and backpacks and unopened hygiene products.

"So often, foster children are moved from one place to another without suitcases or backpacks to carry any personal items," the YMCA wrote in a statement. "Often they only have black trash bags for their personal items. Hygiene products are often forgotten and left behind."

The Cases of Love drive benefits the Colorado Springs Police Department, El Paso County Sheriff's Office, CASA of the Pikes Peak Region, Bethany Christian Services, Dungarvin, Kids Crossing, Lutheran Family Services, Special Kids Special Families, Savio House and El Paso County Department of Human Services.

The Colorado Springs Downtown YMCA, 207 N. Nevada Ave., invites anyone interested in learning about foster care to talk to local foster care agencies from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 22.
